Select the appropriate safety valve according to the throat diameter——HERO VALVE

The operating pressure determines the nominal pressure of the safety valve, the operating temperature determines the operating temperature range of the safety valve, the calculated constant pressure value of the safety valve determines the constant pressure range of the spring or lever, and then determines the material and structure type of the safety valve according to the used medium. Then calculate the throat diameter of the safety valve according to the relief valve discharge.

The following are the general rules for safety valve selection by safety valve manufacturers.

(1) Hot-water boilers are generally used for unsealed micro-lift safety valves with wrenches.

(2) Steam boilers or steam pipelines generally use full-open safety valves with wrenches that are not closed.

(3) Liquid and incompressible media such as water are generally closed micro-lift safety valves or safety relief valves.

(4) High-pressure feedwater generally uses closed full-open safety valves, such as high-pressure feedwater heaters and heat exchangers.

(5) Gas and other compressible media are generally closed full-open safety valves, such as gas storage tanks, gas pipelines, etc.

(6) Class E steam boilers generally use static weight safety valves.

(7) Large-diameter, large-displacement and high-pressure systems generally use pulse safety valves, such as temperature and pressure reduction devices, power station boilers, etc.

(8) Train tank cars, automobile tank cars, storage tanks, etc. that transport liquefied gas generally use built-in safety valves, as shown in Figure 4.

(9) The hydraulic safety valve on the top of the oil tank is generally used in conjunction with the breathing valve.

(10) Pilot-operated safety valves are generally used for underground drainage or natural gas pipelines, as shown in Figure 6.

(11) The safety liquid return valve is generally used on the liquid phase return pipe of the tank pump outlet of the LPG station.
